Divorced policewoman Maren and her daughter Amelie live together in Bad Tölz and are a close-knit team. Not just mother and daughter, but best friends. But then Amelie starts to study, falls head over heels in love with her fellow student Erik and moves in with him in a shared student flat in Munich. Without Amelie, Maren not only feels very alone in the apartment, but also in life. She has to realize that she has been hiding behind Amelie for the last eight years after the divorce and hasn't had a life of her own. So she slowly goes "back on the ice". Told from the viewpoint of musician Nico, "Nesseltal' tells the story of a friend's 30th-birthday weekend in a secluded mountain lodge in the Alps. After the group falls out over an alcohol-fueled argument, the story takes a turn for the worse: not only has Nico disappeared, but the group also find themselves confronted by a much more terrible secret that their unfortunate weekend destination holds.

Chocolatier Karl Sailer unexpectedly loses his job in Hamburg and his wife also becomes unemployed. The offer from his old master from Garmisch comes at just the right time: He needs the former apprentice for his chocolate factory in order to win a tender. Due to a lack of alternatives, Karl, his wife and children move to the family farm in Bavaria. However, an old dispute with his stubborn father causes trouble.
