Munich cardiologist Katja is happy – in two weeks she's marrying wealthy management consultant Richard, and she's about to be promoted at the hospital. But things turn out differently: It's not her who becomes head of the cardiology department, but a competitor. And Richard doesn't react to this rejection as empathetically as the disappointed doctor would like.

Her husband Niklas' loan fraud plunges housewife Laura Vandenberg into disaster. While Niklas is behind bars and the company is being wound up, Laura has to give up her house and move to a dreary high-rise estate with her two children. But with the support of her neighbor Ziggy, Laura soon finds a job in an Italian dive bar. Thanks to her sophisticated cooking skills, which she acquired as a perfectly organized housewife, Laura gets the shop going. Finally, Niklas is released on probation - but then Laura finds out that her husband has not only cheated on the bank.

Elation in Neustadt: by the means of a little witching, Bibi Blocksberg saved two kids from burning to death. While her mother Barbara, a witch of flesh and blood herself, is very proud of her daughter, father Bernhard, overworked and stressed, disapproves greatly of her supernatural antics. Then Bibi gets a message from Walpurgia, the senior witch: she is going to receive her crystel ball, that will make a "real" witch of her, early. Proudly, Bibi jumps up her broom to fly to the Blocksberg, the witches' headquarters. But Rabia, one of the few evil witches, aging in misery and with a secret, begrudges her all the glory...and her youth. And so Rabia sets off events that will soon make Bibi's life fall into pieces.
