During the Nazi occupation of France as two filmmakers attempt to navigate their careers without compromising their ideals. Eleven people take part in a writing workshop where they learn how to write a story. Each of these eleven people will try, in their own way, to tell a story that is close to their heart, whether it be a true story or a fictional one, personal, sentimental, fantastical, detective... In the style of One Thousand and One Nights, the characters in these stories tell stories themselves.
