In 1974, Chico, a beloved host of a children’s TV show at the service of a repressive authoritarian regime, is forced to make the hardest decision of his life: murder a colleague live on air, or lose the approval of his powerful father. As the cameras roll, the program unravels into a surreal theatre of obedience, repression, and madness.

An entertaining TV movie that tells us how the transition from the Estado Novo to democracy took place on April 25. All this through the eyes of a child, the daughter of a dutiful employee who always had to submit, even if he disagreed, to his boss's despotism in order to provide for his family. Until the day when she simply wanted to enjoy the day of absolute promise, so long awaited, with her daughter.

With no news, she finds herself surrounded by families that, like her, desperately long for some kind of hope regarding their loved ones fighting abroad. She takes the matter in her hands and starts tape recording loving messages from each mother, wife and other family members. Carrying the tapes, she travels to Angola and personally delivers these messages to each and every soldier in a personal quest right in the middle of a country in war.

Egas Moniz, a man marked by perseverance and ambition. Audacious and in dissonance with a country full of “narrow-minded” people, Egas Moniz faced everyone so as to impose his scientific ideas, for which he was awarded, at a quite advanced stage of his life, the much-desired Nobel Prize for Medicine in 1949.
