In December 1917, a Finnish delegation arrives in St. Petersburg to meet Vladimir Lenin to seek recognition of Finland's independence.

Three brothers, all with their own problems that could be solved by money, try to come up with a plan to get they share of their uncle's fortune. Then a murder takes place and it is the job of a detective to find out which one of the brothers did it.

Set in early 16th century Finland, a knight Olavi Gideoninpoika meets Mirjam Raakelintytär and falls in love. Mirjami hides in a monastery disguised as a choir boy, but is revealed by a monk Rasmus, who also desires her, and is put on trial.

Kalle, a shy and absent-minded civil servant at the comparison agency, unwittingly becomes Minister of War. He receives help in his new role from Maria, the daughter of Finance Minister Karpio. Problems in the performance of his duties lead Kalle to a court martial, and he resigns from his ministerial post to start a new life with his neighbor Leena.

The pensioners living in the Iltarusko Foundation building are joined by a new resident, Director Korpioja. He brings with him his new secretary, Mirjami, whose presence brings variety to the daily routine maintained by the strict housekeeper.

The film tells the story of an orphaned Anu and carpenter Mikko trying to make a living in a small Karelian village in the early 1930s.

The year is 1895 in a small village in Savo, where new ideas such as women's rights and folk high schools are vehemently opposed by Pastor Jussilainen, both in his home and in the parish. His wife Eveliina, the maids, and the conservative parishioners all experience his vehemence. However, the pastor meets his match when his mother-in-law arrives for a visit.

It is the summer of 1941. An eastern-Finnish machine gun company receives an order to turn in their surplus equipment. The company is transferred to the front lines. The next morning the soldiers wake to the sound of guns – the war has begun.

Timo learns about his grandfather Santeri's background in the workers' sports movement. Inspired by this, he begins to encourage his alcoholic father to practice his own sport, javelin throwing.

Miss Europe Hunting (1955) is a romantic comedy directed by Erik Blomberg and co-written with Lars-Eric Malmlund, which utilizes material recorded during the Miss Europe competitions held in Finland. The story follows the career and relationship development of bird photographer Antero Lintunen (Lasse Pöysti) and American journalist Evelyn McNutty (Lippe Hokkanen). In the path signified by coincidences and misunderstandings, they also find each other.
