In 1814, a nobleman from the Kandian Kingdom of Sri Lanka helped the British army to revolt against the king of Southern India, but was driven to a traitor. His wives have to choose between committing suicide or marrying outcasts. Instead of suicide, young and beautiful Tikiri chooses to marry an untouchable, named Vijaya.

Based on Guththila Kavya, the film follows master musician Guththila and his ambitious disciple Musila, whose rivalry over art, pride, and integrity leads to a dramatic contest of skill and destiny.

Altynai is an orphan girl living in a remote mountain area. Though she is in her youth, Altynai never got a chance to have a proper education. With the founding of a new administrative structure, the government mediates to establish the education system in the rural areas. One day, Duishen an attractive stranger comes to the village to provide education facilities for the children in the village. He starts a school in the village. Partly a compelling domestic drama, and a demonic love story, the narrative follows a puppet-maker who’s set to be married to a young girl. Unfortunately, the girl elopes with her secret lover. Devastated, the grieving puppet-maker ends up carving a puppet in her likeness, which eventually comes to life, setting in motion a fantastical chain of events.

Samath's humble and patient demeanor is also highlighted in the movie and contrasts vehemently with the sense of entitlement we see in children educated in major cities. His innate desire to ensure that his village receives electricity and find a practical method of supplying water to his parents' paddy field are what motivate him. Will he succeed?
