Clergyman Peter leaves the pulpit to enter World War I to be near Julie, the woman he loves. They are separated, but after the war she nurses him through a long illness. He will not marry her because it would hinder the humanitarian work that he plans. She keeps her faith in him, which prompts him to return to her and marry her. A lost film.

Ruth Holt is the efficient private secretary to young architect Elwood Adams. Her polar opposite is Adams' indolent, spendthrift wife Francine, faults which Adams, blinded by his love for her, doesn’t see. Looking to cause trouble, a lounge lizard acquaintance of Francine’s spreads gossip to make her jealous of Ruth. In a business crisis Adams introduces Ruth as his wife to banker Amos Martin but when Francine finds out she flies into a rage and denounces Ruth. After a series of complicated events Ruth reunites the Adams couple and marries the banker.

Susie is forced to dress as a little girl by her mother and sister to make her less attractive to a man her sister hopes to woo. Susie, however, is determined to get her man.

Although the Hervey oil company is nearly bankrupt, owner Bill Hervey is unconcerned because he is about to be married to Helen Gray and can think of nothing else. One day, while visiting his newly purchased home in the suburbs, he meets his neighbor, newlywed Annabelle Eaton, who asks Bill for a ride to a nearby chicken farm. Bill agrees, but when they reach the farm, they are locked in a room by a lunatic and forced to remain there overnight.

Ann is one tough cowgirl. After she beats up Hank, her parents send her East to college, hoping she'll come back a lady.

The friends of the story are John Drene, a sculptor, and Jack Graylock, a painter. Both men swear eternal friendship on the night before Drene's marriage.
