A vaudeville style comedy/musical short about a couple that gets engaged and their fighting families.

Mamie, an orphan girl who was abused in the orphanage, is taken in by Mrs. Caldwell, a kindly woman with a young son named Alexander. Mamie hits it off with the lad, and nicknames him "Zander". When Mrs. Caldwell dies, the authorities decree that the boy must be placed in the same orphanage where Mamie was mistreated. Horrified, Mamie determines to see to it that the boy will be spared the same treatment that she had to suffer.

Ambitious press agent Jack Murray introduces two of his clients, Follies dancer Mabel Vandegrift and prize fighter Joe Cain, to each other and they fall in love. After Brock Morton, the owner of the show, says that he will bring down the curtain on the show in the middle of opening night unless Mabel renounces Joe, the latter goes on the stage and announces that, in spite of his prior refusal, that he will fight the English boxing champion. With the money he gets from boxing promoter Tex Rickard, he buys out Morton and the show goes on. Prior to the fight, Morton dopes Joe, but he is brought around so that he is able to fight and eventually wins the match. Joe's father comes east and then brings Joe and Mabel back west with him. A lost film.

Musty Suffer has a job as a waiter, though he lacks considerable in efficiency. Finding that he gets into trouble with every order he serves, he joins the entertainers and sings a solo. This serves to empty the place as he hoped and gives his a rest. However, another patron comes in and Musty serves him. The customer is irritated with his order and calls for the manager. Musty goes to the kitchen, changes his make-up and poses as the official.

Musty becomes a carpenter's assistant. He decides that a twin brother would be a great help to him in his work, so he makes one out of wood. Thrown out of the shop, Musty and the dummy break into a girls' tea party with startling results. Of course, in the end, our hero gets very much the worst of it.
