The crazy farce about entanglement and dark political backroom dealings "PUT THE MINISTER IN THE SOCKET." However, the very variation on the title also expresses the spirit of this new comedy. Around the machine that keeps the prime minister of the country dead and alive unfolds a farce of dealings and entanglements with only one goal: To change nothing. The political backstage strikes, always for its own benefit, all kinds of scenarios aimed at not changing anything in the country. A comedy about a world that makes sure - in a sometimes criminal way - to keep up the pretense and do nothing at a time when finally some people have to plug in to do something.

The stories of three lonely people surviving a sweltering summertime in Athens are interwoven in this gentle romantic drama. Nikos used to be a merchant seaman, traveling around the globe to exotic places and testing his wits and his mettle in different situations. Now he is retired, living in Athens with his wife whom he no longer loves. While at the train station, he encounters a woman who faints more or less into his arms. From her, he learns that this day has already been special to her for two reasons: her husband just died, and it is her birthday. Curiously, this meeting sparks new life in him. Another man suffering through the hot Athens summer is a bank employee who gets calls every day at four p.m. from a woman who seeks to arouse him. What she succeeds in doing is rousing his curiosity, which he is likely to regret giving in to.

The video film was created by the review of the same name, which was staged at the "Vembo" theater in the period 1987-1988.

At the Presidential Mansion news arrives every day indicating that things in the country are going from bad to worse. The President summons all the political leaders in order to understand exactly what is happening; and yet no one can enlighten him. He decides to act. He calls two journalists and assigns them the task of investigating the matter by speaking directly with ordinary people. The investigation starts with the notorious Gypsy Tamtakos, who struggles every day for a living. Then they move on to a simple employee, Markos, who dreams of a raise -which never comes. Then it's a farmer, Thymios, who comes to the capital to sell his oranges. In a largely burlesque manner, the film more or less reveals that the entire misfortune is due to Greeks' laziness and apathy, as well as to the prevailing attitude of "no big deal".

Kotsos is an honest civil servant, director at the Ministry of International Agreements and Interventions, married with two children. The temptations are certainly great, as many try to bribe him, first and foremost Tom Americo, representative of the American telecommunications company, and the representatives of the Seven Sisters oil companies, but he stands firm as a rock. And when these representatives, with the full support of the corrupt Director General of the ministry, become particularly aggressive, even threatening his life and that of his family, Kotsos has had enough. But in the end, he remains undeterred, signing the sinful contracts, but with sympathetic ink, which disappears after a few hours, thus exposing his superior and all those who act against the interests of the country.
