A blackmail sent to the police containing a video showing the letters "VF" in flame. "VF" means to battle with the card game "Vanguard", in other words, to "fight". The criminal's demand is to call the strongest adult vanguard fighter, and to fight him against three games.

The national university entrance examination is coming up and the students of Class 3/4, which Onizuka Eikichi (AKIRA) is in charge of, enter exam mode. Onizuka who conducts career counselling for the students with assistant form teacher Fuyutsuki Azusa (Takimoto Miori), questions their mentality of aiming for a good university in order to get into a good company.

A mother leaves three kids in the care of Saejima and it's up to Onizuka and the gang to track her down. Meanwhile Miki is having some problems with her dad all the while a handsome and mysterious cram school teacher appears.
