Peter is a young journalist who lives and works in Amsterdam, a city with quite a high density of cafés. Peter has a dynamic personality, perhaps a bit too dynamic for himself and his surroundings. He is unaware of the impact his behavior and drinking habits have on others. This leads to conflicts, even with his loyal girlfriend Nanny and his best friend Harry. Will Peter ultimately choose love and friendship or his addiction?

Hector's parents sent him to an orphanage in treatment for smallpox but... they never picked him up. 35 years later, he still lives in the orphanage, surrounded by children, his playmates. Till a forgotten aunt remembers that he exists. She'll get him to participate in the bakery of her husband, Achilles, to work. Hector shows his skills on the basis of unexpected inventions. So he helps Jos, the son of Achilles, to accomplish his dream to be a cycling champion. In this sophomoric comedy, a lusty adolescent British hockey team heads for Holland where they find something far more interesting than tulips and windmills: gorgeous, lusty women. They are so busy pursuing romance that they forget all about their upcoming match.
