Tony Ayala Jr was considered one of boxing's best prospects until he was sent to prison for sexual assault in 1983. Upon his release in 1999, Ayala Jr tried to return to the ring in an effort to gain redemption only to once again relapse.

Frankie "Panchito" Warren was an oddity in boxing in that he was an African-American fighter who held a mostly Hispanic fanbase. Standing at only 5'3", he tore through his division only to be denied a title shot because of politics.
