A girl is placed in a strict Catholic boarding school by her hateful mother after the divorce of her parents. There she is physically and psychologically tortured by the nuns because of her brutal use of language and anti-clerical upbringing. Her only moments of joy are the visits of her father.

Hellé is a young deaf-mute living among the mountains. She’s ignored by everyone except, now and then, the local woodsmen, who use her for their pleasure. She has no education, no knowledge of right or wrong. One summer, a young man comes to spend the holidays in her village.

This is a film which was made in Belgium in the early '60s and was never released. However, it somehow got included in the American Oscar category for "Best Foreign Film," and was finally released in its home country in 1971. It explores the issues of prejudice and superstition in the Belgian countryside through the troubles of a middle-aged farmer whose mother has been accused of being a witch. In French, this picture is based on a true story which took place in the late 1920s and early '30s.

Near the end of World War II, Gen. Dietrich von Choltitz receives orders to burn down Paris if it becomes clear the Allies are going to invade, or if he cannot maintain control of the city. After much contemplation Choltitz decides to ignore his orders, enraging the Germans and giving hope to various resistance factions that the city will be liberated. Choltitz, along with Swedish diplomat Raoul Nordling, helps a resistance leader organize his forces.

In 1870s Scotland mining engineer James Starr is asked by former colleague Simon Ford, who's living inside the abandoned Aberfoyle mine, to help solve mysterious occurrences taking place inside the mine.

A man inherits an old house in a very bad condition. With the help of a young mechanic, he begins to renovate this house.

During the Second World War, the Martel family hides out in the Pyrenees, waiting for hostilities to end. André, a young boy, saves them from an attack by bogus resistance fighters. Hunted from all sides, he flees to Spain. Catherine Martel leads him to the border, and a romance develops between them.
