Wally Vernon

A four-time widow discusses her four marriages, in which all of her husbands became incredibly rich and died prematurely because of their drive to be rich.

Wally and Eddie are on their way to Reno to win enough money to pay for a little boy's operation. On the way, their car is stolen by two girls and they are beaten up by the girl's boyfriends. They win a lot of money in Reno, but have to fight their way through a free-for-all with two amazons in order to keep it.

Wally ignores warnings and marries a domineering woman. Plagued by his "on-again, off-again" marital status, he is tempted to escape his unhappy, restrictive life by a friend named Eddie, who describes a "gentleman's hobo life" to him.

A man suffering from severe nerves whose peace is shattered when his brother-in-law, Eddie, and his unruly children unexpectedly arrive for a visit. Paranoia soon sets in as the man becomes convinced that Eddie and his wife are plotting to murder him.

Vernon and Eddie are two bumbling shoe store clerks who accidentally pay for a purchase with a bad check from a depleted bank account. Desperate to retrieve their misplaced checkbook, which they inadvertently handed to a customer, they track the individual to an apartment. Their frantic search quickly turns chaotic as they find themselves tangled up with the woman in the apartment and her highly jealous husband.

The boys go off on a hunting weekend, followed closely by their wives.
