Ukraine, 1919. The friendship of two boys, Anton and Jacob, one Christian, the other Jewish, manages to survive the prejudices and hatred that dominate the minds of adults in the aftermath of World War I and the Russian Revolution.

Lithuania in the near future. The land is full of rich immigrants. Rich Lithuanians that were scattered throughout the world return to Lithuania to spend their golden years in luxurious nursing homes; and the laws that govern life and death provide a feeling of security... The residents of the Garden of Eden look upon this "global theatre of life" with tearful smiles and great wisdom.

This film is the story of Mr Faust, who has lost everything there is to lose, as he bids an unfortunate farewell to life, his feelings for his saviour Cloud, and his determination to regain his cursed body and reclaim his soul.

Paris, 1955. Fraudster Georges de Valera, hiding from the police, with the help of a correspondent for the reactionary newspaper Sibilo, poses as Minister Dubov, who allegedly escaped from the Soviet Union. Sibilo's daughter explains to Georges the purpose of the planned action: to slander progressive journalists with the help of the false Dubov. De Valera, not wanting to become a participant in the provocation, goes into hiding. But instead they find another candidate for the role of Dubov...

A film about the famous priest, politician Konstantinas Olšauskas and his love affair with Stanislava Ustjanauskiene, whose murder in the fall of 1928 still remains a mystery...

Fragments of the stories were dramatized: R. Bradbury “I Sing About the Mechanical Body” (about the work of an electronic grandmother who, having human qualities, gives tenderness to children deprived of maternal affection) and I. Varshavsky “There are no alarming symptoms” about Professor Clarence, who agrees to an operation that deprives him of human emotions.

Before leaving for the USSR, a West German journalist meets his father, who was in Russia in 1922, where he met, fell in love with and lost forever a Russian translator. Sixty years later, the son follows his father's route...
