Bennie, a baker, is finding life hard after his wife's passing. At one moment, he mistakenly poisons Brandi, his dog, with alcohol after a night of drinking. He desperately tries to get back in contact with her, but she ignores his calls. He manages to set up a meeting with her, under false pretenses, but she rejects him again. He sticks around and saves her from a business meeting gone wrong and eventually ends up being in business with her.
