With a central theme of the medical macabre, Amicus Productions' new anthology draws inspiration from the iconic British horror label's 1960s and '70s classics “Dr. Terror’s House of Horrors,” “Tales from the Crypt” and “Asylum,” and spotlights four tales rooted in the works of revered authors such as H.P. Lovecraft, Ambrose Bierce and E.F. Benson.

When Princess Meyra is kidnapped by the evil wizard Akaris, the slave Tyrol volunteers to lead a mission to his cursed dungeon lair to save her from his clutches. Along with a band of heroes of questionable loyalties, he must battle the ancient and diabolical creatures that protect Akaris' fortress, and overcome his devious tests. Ultimately, Tyrol must slay a dragon to save the princess, and the realm, from a reign of endless darkness.

The Porcelain Pianist is a creepy little tale with an eerie, slow-burn pace that follows three young men who join forces to confront their absent father on the set of a horror film. In the film, their father is directing a story about a notorious composer and maestro pianist whose music reputedly caused madness in its listeners. To add to the horror, the composer famously hid his features under a porcelain mask.

The film comprises of an intense psychological experiment which was undertaken by students of a local acting college. The results were unsettling and genuinely disturbing.
