Stella, grows up in Berlin during the rule of the Nazi regime. She dreams of a career as a jazz singer, despite all the repressive measures she is forced to go into hiding with her parents in 1944, her life turns into a culpable tragedy.

Heddi is a self-confident and battle-hardened coastal fisherwoman. She only has one weak point: her daughter Eva. Eva is an environmental activist and just as militant as her mother. When Pullmann gets a new superior who keeps a close eye on him, things get tight - and in order not to jeopardize his marriage, he decides to go straight. The only question is whether he will succeed.

Henk, a good family man from Wolfsburg, accidentally gets on an ICE Sprinter in Berlin that is going non-stop to Frankfurt. On the train he meets Eva, a woman who is on a dangerous mission. She doesn't need anyone near her. But Henk sticks to her and lives through a night in Frankfurt at the side of this ambitious, well-rounded woman, which turns both of their lives upside down. They will talk, argue, laugh, eat, drink, dance with each other that night.
