The Cure are pop outsiders. Over a fifty year career, the English band have released 14 studio albums to great acclaim but it was their 1989 album Disintegration, released during a pivotal year in Europe and the world, which would capture the imagination of so many fans. This documentary tells the story of this landmark work of art in the history of popular music.

A celebration of The Cure. Robert Smith's unique songwriting talents meant that The Cure's long list of singles were always destined to break out of tortured students bedrooms and be embraced by a far wider audience. This archive collection of The Cure's performances on the BBC goes from the early days with A Forest through to hits like Lovecats, Friday I'm In Love, Close To Me and Boys Don't Cry, demonstrating why, in Britain and overseas, they enjoyed – or pretended not to enjoy – such huge success.

Greatest Hits is a 2001 album by The Cure. The band's relationship with longtime label Fiction Records came to a close, and The Cure were obliged to release one final album for the label. Robert Smith agreed to release a greatest hits album under the condition that he could choose the tracks himself.

Released in 1993 and recorded live over two nights at The Palace of Auburn Hills, Auburn Hills, Michigan (a suburb of Detroit) in 1992, during the successful Wish tour.

The Cure's Unplugged acoustic performance for MTV recorded on January 24th, 1991 in London's MTV Studios and aired on March 3rd, 1991.

The two-hour film collects various live and rehearsal performances by The Cure from early 1991, including some of the band’s “MTV Unplugged” appearance and pre-release airings of a few cuts that would make Wish cuts and one very notable track that wouldn’t: “The Big Hand,” a fan favourite that would inexplicably wind up a B-side.

Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor introduces The Cure for their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at the Barclay Center in NYC on March 29th. Robert Smith and co played 5 songs for the occasion to a very appreciative crowd.
