Hiltrud Janssen soon achieves what only a few people in her life are able to do: she celebrates her 100th birthday. It's just a shame that she fell out with her younger sister Betty many years ago. Back then, Betty worked as a housekeeper for the influential CDU politician Heinrich Verhoeven and had an affair with him. Verhoeven was accused of adultery, but Betty was able to convince her sister Hiltrud to make a false statement. Verhoeven was acquitted and Hiltrud never spoke to Betty again. Hiltrud and Betty's sister Martha, now 98 years old, thought the 100th birthday was the perfect occasion to reconcile the estranged sisters and arranged a meeting.

While four nuns of a women's monastery in the Eifel begin their day, Bishop Rentschler decides to sell their monastery. The Prioress agrees, Novice Ruth is outraged. Bittner, who runs the village shop, is appalled by the news and worries about former Prioress Philippa, who is suffering from dementia. The bishop receives a protest letter, which is why a mediator is sent to the nuns. It is the psychologist Ulrike Purscheck. Her motivation seminar, however, with the appeal to let go of the old, but with the nuns on closed ears - except for sister Brionie.

Honesty is the best? The original comedy tells of a farmer's clever family, which comes to this insight after some confusion. Director and author Thomas Kronthaler packages a fine morality about money, family ties and charity with a black sense of humor and a sense of subtle punchlines. In addition to Saskia Vester and Heinz-Josef Braun, who is mainly known through the films of Marcus H. Rosenmüller, shines not least the multi-award winning Gertrud Roll as a clever senior.

It is really turbulent at this folk festival, when the municipal boundaries are confirmed from old tradition and everything is upside down. For this occasion leaves Thomas Weidmann his girlfriend and flees because of his botched university career from the city of Berlin back to his native village. At the party, he meets Kerstin Werner, whose life has just come out of joint - her marriage is broken and her husband Jürgen on the jump to another, younger woman.

Germany, Baltic Sea coast, May 1945, a few days before the end of World War II. A small Soviet patrol arrives at an isolated house where an elderly baroness gives shelter to a group of orphan girls and a boy who is determined to continue the fight.

Hamburg boy Leo Vandenbroek is not amused when his mother, ER surgeon Pia, drags him to a godforsaken Bavarian village for her 'long overdue relaxing holiday'. In fact she rented from local doctor Peter Huber because he's married to Maria, who she learned in her recently deceased father's testament to be her illegitimate half-sister. Leo, who misses his daddy since Pia's career ruined her marriage, instantly bonds with Peter, and ultimately even becomes the glue to reconcile him with his father Karl, who is embittered since his wife's fatal disease.

Helen, in her early 50s, really doesn't know which problem she should solve first: her husband seems to be cheating on her, the children are in terrible puberty, things aren't going well with the gardening business, and she herself is going through menopause. When her old mother also has a stroke, the otherwise calm Helen threatens to go crazy.

Hanna and Simon are in a 20 year marriage with an unexciting relationship. By chance, they both meet and start separate affairs with Adam. Adam has no idea that his two lovers are married, until they are all found out when Hanna becomes pregnant, with the natural doubts stemming from their situation.
