When Gregório, a modest sales representative, mysteriously transforms into an insect, his social relationships and ties to the world begin to disintegrate. Tormented by incessant thoughts, he struggles to feel and remain human.

Student Nahid (Madiha Kamel) falls in love with the doctor (Ahmed Mazhar), the father of her friend (Laila Hamada), and tries to reach his heart, but her mother (Maryam Fakhr El-Din) objects to this and tries to prevent her from doing so, and when he proposes to her mother, which causes her to suffer from a condition... She is severely depressed, so her uncle (Hassan Mustafa) tries to help her accept it.

Fathia travels to Lebanon to spend a period of convalescence, leaving her husband Sami behind. Fathia meets an Egyptian young man in Lebanon at the same time that her husband Sami falls in love with the playful Souad and spends time with her. News reaches Fathia that her husband is cheating on her, so she becomes angry and finds no way to respond to the betrayal except with betrayal.

Near the end of World War II, General Dietrich von Choltitz receives orders to burn down Paris if it becomes clear the Allies are going to invade, or if he's unable to maintain control of the city. After much contemplation, Choltitz ignores orders, enraging the Germans and giving hope to various resistance factions that the city will be liberated. Choltitz, alongside Swedish diplomat Raoul Nordling, helps a leader organise his forces.
