Even a God-like gourmet instance can sometimes be wrong: out of the blue, Eifel landlady Toni gets a star for her cooking skills. There is in their "copper can" only a lunch table with bourgeois home cooking. Of course, it is a mistake of the renowned restaurant guide, the star chef Rufus expensive: without the prestigious star threatens his eponymous gourmet temple off! When his snobbish regulars turn to Toni's "copper can", the landlady gets cold feet: In contrast to her mother Heidi, she wants to eliminate the error as quickly as possible from the world.

The couple Antonia, or Toni, and the former star chef Rufus run the country inn "Kupferkanne" together. They keep getting into arguments about it. When Toni's mother wins a wellness vacation for two to the Baltic Sea in a competition, Toni decides to go along. Rufus is delighted, as it means he can finally work in peace on turning the "Kupferkanne" into a Michelin-starred restaurant. While on vacation, mother Heidi falls in love with Ivo, a former acquaintance of Rufus from his star chef days. She wants to start a new life with him and, to Toni's horror, is prepared to put her share of the "Kupferkanne" on the line.

Eifel landlady Antonia "Toni" Janssen and Rufus van Berg want to get married without fanfare and in a small circle. Unfortunately for the bride, her mother Heidi has completely different ideas for her only daughter's wedding. She would like to invite the whole village! Rufus doesn't have very good plans either: Toni's no-good "ex" Hajü, who imposes himself as his "best friend" and best man, wants to organize a proper stag party for him. But what the former star chef fears most is a visit from his parents Carl and Luise, whose marriage is in a permanent state of crisis. In fact, Rufus' mother's bad temper exceeds even the worst expectations: Not only is she completely miffed by her husband's constant flirtations, she is also less than enthusiastic about her son's new life. Luise bluntly lets Toni know.

Rufus finally wants to regain his mistakenly revoked gourmet star. The ideal opportunity presents itself at the congress of chefs on the sunny island of Madeira. There he wants to show that his new, down-to-earth gourmet cuisine à la Kupferkanne is even better than the previous one in his posh Cologne restaurant.

Eifel landlady Toni Janssen has the blues. The unexpected single life is just as depressing as the decline of the "Kupferkanne" without the cooking skills of her "ex". The otherwise tough restaurant owner would prefer to crawl under the comforter all day! But giving up is out of the question for her mother Heidi. The fact that the Janssen women have been making it on their own for generations is their motto in life anyway. The best example: Heidi's newly opened guesthouse, which is often fully booked! It's not just business success that has a rejuvenating effect on the optimistic woman in her mid-fifties. Ron, the gardener hired by the investment-happy business founder, surprises her with his charming advances. What Heidi initially finds hard to believe soon sends her into a frenzy of love.

Eifel landlady Toni Janssen and her mother Heidi are once again running the Kupferkanne as a team of two. While Heidi's guesthouse is running at full speed, Toni wants to shift down a few gears at her newly renovated country inn. The new name "Kupferkännchen" is intended to stand for a less ambitious concept: home-style cooking for pub guests. However, their new chef Sebastian Holtmann brings the highest culinary standards with him. Not only does he have a lot up his sleeve, but he is also extremely self-confident. Toni is amazed that Sebastian would like to reopen under his own name.

An inheritance dispute causes unrest for the crisis-tested mother-daughter duo. An unpaid bill from Aunt Claudia is not just about money, law and justice...
