At the height of the Great Depression, the showman of a renowned circus leads his troupe through the devastated American landscape, lifting the spirits of audiences along the way. During their travels, they discover a man without limbs at a carnival sideshow. "Go Make Memories", is a short film which hopes to raise awareness of the ultra-rare and devastating group of genetic conditions, Niemann-Pick disease (NPD). By using a mixture of live action and animation the film explores the impact this rare condition has on those affected by it, by following the deterioration of the child and the subsequent emotional turmoil that comes hand in hand with such a diagnosis...especially when this is followed up with the suggestion by the family's doctor to simply, "Go Make Memories".
It's the mid-1930s, and brakeman Kvist has had enough of working on the train, jumped off, and started to walk on the train tracks in the middle of nowhere in Lapland, Northern Finland, hoping to find new work and adventures. Based on the novella by the famous Swedish author Eyvind Johnson.
