The Last Tree

Two Los Angeles homicide detectives are dispatched to a northern town where the sun doesn't set to investigate the methodical murder of a local teen.

Carlos and Roque, two high school friends, play on the same soccer team. After an unexpected rapprochement between the two, Carlos doubts about his sexuality, rejects Roque's friendship and forces him to keep quiet. From this moment on, Carlos faces the difficult circumstance of making a decision whether or not to save his friendship.

New Jersey teen Daniel LaRusso moves to Los Angeles with his mother, and soon strikes up a relationship with Ali. He quickly finds himself the target of bullying by a group of thugs, led by Ali's ex-boyfriend Johnny, who study karate at the Cobra Kai dojo under ruthless sensei John Kreese. Fortunately, Daniel befriends Mr. Miyagi, an unassuming repairman who just happens to be a martial arts master himself. Miyagi takes Daniel under his wing, training him in a more compassionate form of karate for self-defense and, later, preparing him to compete against the brutal Cobra Kai.

Nevena arrives to her family home in the countryside, where she is welcomed by her mother and grandmother. The time spent there brings unexpected changes: Nevena faces her grandmother's aging, the relationship between mother and daughter is put to the test, and through the lens of her camera, Nevena tries to preserve tender moments and the last remaining memories.

Five high school students from different walks of life endure a Saturday detention under a power-hungry principal. The disparate group includes rebel John, princess Claire, outcast Allison, brainy Brian and Andrew, the jock. Each has a chance to tell his or her story, making the others see them a little differently -- and when the day ends, they question whether school will ever be the same.
