Kate and Humphrey head out into the woods to look for food to stock up on for winter, and they leave their three pups with their parents. But the pups and the rest of the pack must venture out in search of them after the duo get caught in a blizzard.

When a high school senior finds out from her parents that she must miss the town's winter dance in order to attend church, she successfully wishes their faith away, bringing disastrous consequences to her family and community. To restore their faith, she is led through a series of Christmas adventures that change her heart and those around her.

The lives of a motherless young man, who's just starting to find interest in women, and his physically abused, poverty stricken friend, are mixed with more or less innocent childhood experiences and challenges most their age experience.

Two women, one American and one British, swap homes at Christmastime following bad breakups. Each woman finds romance with a local man but realizes that the imminent return home may end the relationship.
