The Wayward Bus

Amidst her own personality crisis, a southern housewife meets an outgoing old woman who tells her the story of Idgie Threadgoode and Ruth Jamison, two young women who experienced hardships and love in 1920s Whistle Stop, Alabama.

The Davenport sisters have drifted apart over the years but when their Dad wins the lottery all he wants is having his girls home for Christmas. Getting over years of resentment proves a big task but it's pushed aside when their mother suffering from dementia loses the ticket. They put aside their differences to help find the ticket and in doing so get over their differences and finally learn to come together.

After a fleeting encounter in Los Angeles, Paul, a washed-up, manic depressive photographer and Madeline, a vivacious Parisian free-spirit, find themselves entangled in more than just a one-night stand. Their unexpected connection propels them on a road trip to San Francisco, each mile along the scenic California coast drawing them closer in ways they hadn't anticipated. Lal wants to start his tourist bus service and enlists the help of his brother-in-law, Das, who takes him to Chor Bazar, and for two Lakh Rupees assembles a hideous-looking bus to transport passengers from Bombay to Goa. Selling his tickets at a discount of 40 percent, Lal becomes the Conductor, while Das is the driver. Their passengers consist of Vetti Kutti Anna and his two bar dancer daughters, Deepa and Lajjo; writer Aditya Chopra; a runaway couple, Abdul Karim Telgi and Husna Khekeda; a diabetic patient, Charandas amongst others. On the way they pick up an elderly male, Harley Davidson, and Dr. Kushal Bhardwaj, as well as India's cricket team, and a four-person Nautanki group. After letting some passengers, including the cricket team and Harley, alight, they subsequently find Harley dying after meeting with an accident.
