Six would-be superheroes confront the realities of adult life. Juggling rent, failing friendships and the gig economy, will our heroes finally “make it big”, or will their powers go to waste?

A documentary crew films heavy metal band Bad News as they have trouble starting their van, pick up a schoolgirl groupie, and meet up with rock journalist Sally at a motorway service station where they argue about the cost of sausage and chips.

Four years after they were last the subject of a documentary, the heavy metal band Bad News get back together again for another film of their exploits, beginning with a reunion gig at the Flying Horse.

The Grand is in the tradition of improvisational comedies like Best In Show and This Is Spinal Tap. The story is set in the world of professional poker and follows six players who reach the final table of the world’s second most famous high stakes tournament, the Grand Championship of Poker.

At the dawn of the Second World War, Nazism was extending its grip over South America. The Golden Angel, a Mexican masked wrestler, was recruited by the Americans in order to flush out the spies of the Third Reich and put a stop to their nefarious schemes. The Golden Angel’s assignments, still classified Top Secret and therefore absent from the history books, even brought him to a pivotal confrontation with Hitler himself. Inspired by the spirit of classic mockumentaries such as Woody Allen’s ZELIG and Peter Jackson’s FORGOTTEN SILVER, the film takes viewers on a unique version of the fight against the Third Reich, joyfully erasing the border between fiction and reality for the viewers who, taken on this unique ride, can’t help but ask: did this really happen?
